Cast on al fresco with fellow enthusiasts and experts

In the summer, swing by the park for free instruction from Knitty City, New York City’s favorite yarn community and store, and knit with fellow enthusiasts. Yarn and needles are provided. Classes in the park are held on the gravel on the Upper Terrace closest to 40th Street, and are weather permitting.

Weekly Knitting Classes

June 10-August 26
Wednesdays, 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Take part in beginner classes with Knitty City on the gravel South of the Gertrude Stein monument. Volunteers are available to teach you how to cast, knit, purl, and more! Yarn and needles are provided.

* Please note there will be no class on June 24 and July 1 

WORLDWIDE KNIT IN PUBLIC DAY 

June 13
Saturday, 1:30pm - 5:30pm 

Participate in Worldwide Knit in Public Day by joining knitters of all experiences on the gravel South of the Gertrude Stein monument. Beginner classes are hosted by Knitty City, and volunteers are available to walk you through instruction. Materials are provided, and finished projects will be donated to Bryant Park's Found But Not Lost program.

Donate scarves

Donate a scarf for our “Found but Not Lost” program. Scarves will be spread around the park in February. Anyone can take a scarf if you are cold, or give to a person in need.
