Picnics, sunbathing, and a multitude of activities and events make the lawn NYC's favorite backyard
Bryant Park’s lawn is planted with a rye/fescue/bluegrass mix. The lawn is as long as a football field (300 feet) and 215 feet wide. It is occasionally closed for aeration, fertilization, or protection during wet weather. We hold many free, large-scale events on the lawn, like Yoga and Movie Nights, so it often needs rest before and after big events.
The lawn is usually open for lunch and through the evening. However, lawn hours are subject to change so please visit our homepage for the daily lawn message.
