Accordion Festival on September 14

September 6, 2018

Accordions Around the World has had another great run at Bryant Park and, as is our custom, we’re saving the biggest and best for last. The five-hour Accordion Festival on Friday, September 14 wraps up the season, presenting five bands performing music in five distinct musical traditions from all around the world.

Here’s the lineup:

  • Shashmaqam (Bukharian Jewish Music and dance from Central Asia)

  • João Cirilo Pilom Batuko Band (Funaná and Batuko from Cape Verde)

  • Shilpa Ray (Indie rock on the harmonium)

  • Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino (Pizzica Tarantata from Puglia)

  • Rimel (sister band performing Mexican Norteño)

The music is performed right on the Lawn, from 5pm-10pm. This is an installment of Bryant Park Picnics, so we’ll have blankets to borrow at the Bryant Park Shop + Info tent, free lawn activities, and food curated by Hester Street Fair available for purchase, as well as beer and wine.
