Bryant Park Yoga Returns to NYC

May 1, 2019

Introduces Partnership with Health Magazine Brand To Help Wellness Enthusiasts Get #YogaFit At Largest Recurring Outdoor Exercise Program Running May 30 - August 29

NEW YORK, NY (May 2, 2019) – Celebrating 17 years of helping New Yorkers get fit and manage stress, Bryant Park Yoga returns this summer in partnership with the Health magazine brand. The popular program, which makes it easy for New York residents and visitors alike to incorporate yoga into their lives through free weekly classes, runs Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings, May 30 through August 29.

Joining Bryant Park Corporation for the first time as an exclusive media partner, Health will promote the program with content online and through social media channels, as well as onsite activations. A leading source of inspiration and advice, Health will further engage and encourage participants in their journey to lead healthier lives.

“A flagship series, Bryant Park Yoga has attracted thousands of New Yorkers every summer, since launching in 2002,” said Daniel Biederman, executive director of Bryant Park Corporation. “We are delighted to have the support of Health, which allows us to continue reaching people in new and relevant ways. In fact, this is really just the beginning of an exciting partnership that will extend into the fall with the launch of our new health and wellness festival coming to the park in September.”

“Bryant Park Yoga invites New Yorkers to pursue a healthy lifestyle and enjoy a sense of community," says Amy Conway, editor in chief of Health. "It is like a gift to the city, and we are thrilled to be involved this summer, in addition to partnering on the wellness festival this fall."

Gaiam, a yoga, fitness and wellness brand, returns as a supporter and will donate 1,200 yoga mats for participants to use throughout the season, and will host weekly giveaways featuring wellness baskets. MINDBODY, the leading technology platform for the fitness, beauty and wellness services industries, lets participants view the yoga schedule and book sessions via the MINDBODY app. Registration is not required, but highly encouraged.

Bryant Park Yoga takes place Tuesdays at 10:00am and Thursdays at 6:00pm on the Lawn. Classes run for one hour and will be conducted by a roster of New York’s finest yoga teachers. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a mat or they may bring their own. Bryant Park is located at 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue.
