Friday, April 6 is the 20th Annual Tartan Day in New York City, and to help those of Scottish heritage celebrate their roots, Bryant Park is hosting a series of events over three days.

On Friday, April 6, the American Scottish Foundation comes to the Fountain Terrace to hold its Tartan Day Observance at 12:30pm. The ceremony includes live music, readings from a Senate Resolution and Presidential Decree recognizing Tartan Day, and a recitation of excerpts from the Declaration of Arbroath.

On Saturday, April 7, Pipes and Drums on the Fountain Terrace presents stirring performances by leading Pipe Bands as they prepare for the 20th Annual New York Tartan Day Parade. The music runs from 11:15am–1pm, then the bands head up Sixth Avenue to 44th Street, where the parade begins at 2pm.

Then on Sunday, April 8, 12:30pm–1:30pm, it’s Scotland on the Fountain Terrace, presenting more music from the Highlands.
