Found But Not Lost Donates Scarves to Breaking Ground
Our annual Found But Not Lost program occurred on February 21 this year, as people arriving at Bryant Park saw the impressive sight of more than 400 scarves wrapped around chairs, statues, tree limbs, and other park fixtures. The growth of this program inspired Associate Director of Events Alice Cashman to donate 100 scarves to Breaking Ground, a local non-profit homeless outreach and affordable housing program. The donation was also made in honor of Random Acts of Kindness Week. Breaking Ground operates nearly 4,000 units of supportive housing in NYC alone, with more in upstate New York and Connecticut. The scarves will be distributed by Breaking Ground to those in the organization’s NYC housing. As enthusiastic supporters of Breaking Ground’s mission, we are pleased to help out in this small way.
This was truly a group effort. We thank Pearl Chin at Knitty City, and all the people, from Australia to California, who created beautiful handmade scarves for Found But Not Lost.
