Give Back at World Vision Give-back Gift Shop

November 20, 2018

The Tuesday following Thanksgiving is Giving Tuesday, and in that spirit, the charitable organization World Vision is bringing giving to life with a new, interactive pop-up shop at Bank of America Winter Village.

World Vision is a global Christian humanitarian organization that partners with children, families, and communities to tackle the root causes of poverty and injustice. The Give-back Gift Shop allows families the opportunity to see, touch, and experience how one act of generosity can light up an entire community. It’s all part of World Vision’s #ShineBright movement.

For three days, visitors are invited to:

  • Snap selfies with live farm animals and learn how they transform communities

  • Snuggle up in a Mongolian ger and understand how these homes protect families from sub-zero temperatures

  • Build a Hope Kit for U.S. women escaping abuse, poverty, trafficking or addiction

  • Take a virtual tour of an African village and learn how sponsorship can change children’s lives

  • Operate a water pump and experience what it’s like for a child to walk more than three miles a day to collect water

On Monday, reality TV star Sadie Robertson drops by to encourage fans to use their voices to make an impact on the world, and on Giving Tuesday, Emmy-winning actor Patricia Heaton visits to inspire fans to give back. Also appearing on Giving Tuesday is Grammy Award-winning duo Sugarland, who will use their star power to help encourage a spirit of generosity this holiday season.

The World Vision Give-back Gift Shop is open 11am-8:30pm Sunday, November 25-Tuesday, November 27. By the way, you can donate to World Vision anytime, but on Giving Tuesday, your contribution will be matched by a donation of product from Thirty-One Gifts up to $2 million - helping families around the world keep babies warm, deliver medical supplies, and keep girls in school.
