Picnic Performances: July 2026
Concerts with the sound of summer!
This July, Picnic Performances begins a month-long partnership with Carnegie Hall Citywide, bringing a dynamic lineup of artists and musical traditions to Bryant Park. On Friday, July 17, Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas will fill the park with the high-energy sounds of Southern Louisiana.
What to expect:
- Irresistible zydeco rhythms driven by accordion, rubboard, and guitar.
- A dynamic blend of Creole tradition and Louisiana favorites, from jazz and blues to R&B.
On July 24, the NYC Ska Orchestra brings its vibrant 20-piece ensemble to Bryant Park for a vibrant evening of Jamaican-inspired rhythms with a contemporary flair.
What to expect:
- A lively mix of ska, mento, reggae, jazz, soul, and R&B rooted in Jamaican musical traditions.
- An iconic ensemble led by Kevin Batchelor, featuring musicians Larry McDonald and Carl Wright, who have worked with Jamaican legends Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.
On July 31, Afro-Puerto Rican band El Laberinto del Coco closes out the month with an electrifying night of Bomba Fusion, with an electrifying night of Bomba Fusion and fiery summer fun.
What to expect:
- A festive performance from a Puerto Rico-based band blending bomba with jazz, reggae, funk, and Latin fusion.
- The dynamic sounds of traditional instruments like the cuá and barril de bomba, bringing spicy Latin fusion to a summer evening in Bryant Park.
