Thanksgiving Day in the Districts

November 23, 2021

Bank of America Winter Village is open all day on Thanksgiving, offering free-admission ice skating at The Rink, a great selection of artisan gifts from small businesses and local vendors at the Holiday Shops, and a festive spot for a drink and a bite to eat rinkside at The Lodge by Prime Video.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade proceeds down Sixth Avenue from 9am-12pm, making it easy for park visitors to sneak peeks of the extravaganza while shopping, skating, and enjoying the atmosphere.

If you need to rest and warm up, we highly recommend The Lodge with its several bars, eateries, and heaters to keep you and your hot chocolate toasty warm. There are also more than a hundred Holiday Shops throughout the park selling a variety of tasty treats and artisan goods.

Please note: during parade time, you must enter the park from the southwestern corner of 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue, walk along the southern sidewalk of 42nd Street, and then proceed to the park’s Upper Terrace.

If you watch the parade on or near 34th Street, keep in mind that many stores may be closed on Thanksgiving Day this year so be sure to check hours online if you want to do some shopping! The World’s Biggest Store itself is closed on Thanksgiving Day, and is open 6am-midnight on Black Friday.
