Two More Fridays for Brass Bands
There’s nothing like trumpets, trombones, and tubas to stir the soul, and Bryant Park Brass Bands brings NYC’s best to the Fountain Terrace for one-hour performances guaranteed to get your weekend off to a rousing start. There are two performances left:
-
Friday, August 24: The Jambalaya Brass Band, NYC’s ultimate New Orleans party band and a Bryant Park veteran, combines R&B, Funk, Gospel Traditional Jazz, Zydeco, Hip Hop, and Be-Bop for a veritable historical journey through the Big Easy’s brass band tradition.
-
Friday, August 31: Underground Horns performs music with Afro, Funk, Latin, New Orleans grooves, and beyond. AllAboutJazz described their 2009 debut record FUNK MONK as “kick-ass dance music…that brushes up against psychedelia…with shots of funky brass juice.”
Both performances are on the Fountain Terrace and run 5pm–6pm.
