Ted Rosenthal is a celebrated jazz pianist and composer who actively tours worldwide with his trio, as a soloist, or performing live with many jazz greats, including Gerry Mulligan and Art Farmer. Ted has released fifteen CDs; Rhapsody in Gershwin, which features his arrangement of Rhapsody in Blue, reached #1 in jazz album sales at iTunes and Amazon. Wonderland was selected as a New York Times holiday pick. His solo album, The 3 B's, received 4 stars from DownBeat magazine and features the music of Bud Powell, Bill Evans, along with his personal improvisations on Beethoven themes. Ted is the recipient of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition prize, grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, and has had many of his works commissioned and premiered by prestigious institutions like the New York City Opera and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. He has been featured at orchestral and pop performances around the globe and is a dedicated teacher at The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music.
