Stuart Klawans, Crooked, but Never Common: The Films of Preston Sturges

Stuart Klawans was the longtime film critic for the Nation, for which he received a National Magazine Award. He is the author of Film Follies: The Cinema Out of Order (1999) and has contributed to the New York Times, the Times Literary Supplement, Film Comment, and Parnassus: Poetry in Review.

Scott Adlerberg is a novelist and our resident film expert. He is the author of Jack Waters (Broken River Books, 2018), a historical revenge thriller, Summerfield’s Film (2016), Graveyard Love (Broken River, 2016), a psychological thriller, Jungle Horses (2014), a fantasy/noir novella, and Spiders and Flies (Harvard Square Editions, 2012), a Martinique-set crime novel. He has been a contributor to Lithub and Criminal Element.
