Movie Nights Kicks Off Monday
The biggest outdoor film series of them all kicks off on Monday as Bryant Park Movie Nights, presented by Bank of America and supported by Bravo, Qatar Airways, HBO, and Vulture, opens on June 18 with John Hughes’ classic The Breakfast Club, starring Molly Ringwald and a whole pack of brats.
Bryant Park Movie Nights is one of NYC’s most treasured summer rituals, and for good reason: where else in the city do up to 10,000 people gather, create an instant community, dine, and watch a great film – all under the stars in a beautiful park? The combination is unbeatable.
Each film night includes a choice of foods for purchase curated by Hester Street Fair on the Fountain Terrace. There, you’ll also find the Bryant Park Shop + Info tent, where you can borrow a blanket, while supplies last. There’s also beer and wine for sale at the new Movie Nights Lounge on the Upper Terrace.
If you’re coming, here are some things to remember: The Lawn opens to the public at precisely 5pm, and there’s plenty of people waiting to get out there so if you want your choice seat, we suggest you or a friend be there at 5. Blankets are welcome, but please, no plastic, tarps, or trash bags, as that harms the grass. No animals or bicycles are allowed on the Lawn, and all bags are inspected each time you enter the Lawn area.
The screen lights up at dusk, with announcements and a classic cartoon. Then it’s movie time.
