Save the Date for Bryant Park Picnics
The renamed and revamped Bryant Park Picnics performing arts series is returning to Bryant Park, bigger and better than ever. From May through September, we’re offering free performances by some of the city’s most prestigious arts organizations, paired with picnics featuring food for purchase curated by Hester Street Fair and the free use of blankets for the first 200 to arrive. This year’s roster of events includes:

Shakespeare - The Drilling Company brings three productions to the park this season: a modern twist on the Bard’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream in May, a three-performance production of Twelfth Night in July, and in September, a production of the tragedy Macbeth.

Contemporary Dance –Exciting dance companies perform back-to-back on five summer evenings.

New York City Opera - The company previews its upcoming season with four evenings of performances featuring excerpts from Carmen, Madama Butterfly, The Crucible, and The Barber of Seville.

Carnegie Hall Citywide - Five free concerts featuring outstanding classical, blues, Latin, gospel, and world music artists.

Accordions Around the World. A five-week series featuring accordion, and accordion-related, performances by musicians from around the world, culminating with the five-hour Accordion Festival.

Emerging Music Festival - This exciting series returns for its third year, presenting the best in NYC’s new music, including indie rock, soul, R&B, singer-songwriter and more, in two five-hour performances on consecutive evenings in August.

A Night of Ballet - American Ballet Theatre offers a free outdoor master class, and afterward, a discussion with the company’s principle dancers. To round out the evening, ballet companies perform on the Bryant Park Stage.

A special appearance by the Asian Cultural Center Orchestra.
