Belongó: Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra

To celebrate the 400th birthday of NYC, 8-time Grammy Award winner Arturo O'Farrill leads an orchestral retrospective of NYC big band music.
The multi-Grammy–winning Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra (ALJO) is a big band of jazz and Latin-jazz virtuosos led by the inimitable Arturo O’Farrill. With roots in Latin jazz traditions trailblazed by greats like Tito Puente and Mario Bauzá, and with an equally keen ear for the music’s future, ALJO has spent the past two decades thrilling audiences with its impeccable ensemble playing, showstopping soloists, and expansive repertoire—including works by Arturo and Chico O’Farrill.

Belongó (formerly the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance) activates the power of music and the arts to create a space for creativity and understanding that strengthens bonds and enriches lives across the communities they serve.
Bryant Park Picnic Performances presented by Bank of America is a free outdoor festival that welcomes all New Yorkers to experience the city’s vibrant arts and culture.
