Jourdan Thibodeaux is the guy you picture when someone says the word “authentic.” Straight from the blackjack boggy woods of Cypress Island, Louisiana, Jourdan is one of only a small number of young people speaking Cajun French today, and his soulful singing and fiddling are the perfect medium for his ever-growing repertoire of original Louisiana French songs.

His musical ability and his crafty songwriting which is at once classic and progressive has afforded him a band comprised of some of the finest artists in Acadiana today: Blake Miller (accordion, fiddle and vocals), Joel Savoy (guitar), Drake LeBlanc (trumpet and scrub board), Alan Lafleur (bass), and Adam Cormier (drums).

From foot-stomping two-steps to heart-breaking ballads, Jourdan Thibodeaux et les Rôdailleurs deliver la verité with a sound that will leave you wetter than running hoop nets in July!

Hailing from Karachi, Pakistan, the Saami Brothers are the living custodians of one of the world’s oldest and most powerful musical legacies, Deli Qawwal Bacha Gharana. A Sufi dynasty with an unbroken lineage spanning nearly 800 years, the family are master practitioners of two deeply spiritual and technically demanding traditions: Khayal and Qawwali.

Passed down solely through oral tradition, their vocal artistry embodies a rare level of mastery. The Saami family uniquely blends the contemplative stillness of Khayal—rooted in breath, silence, and tone—with the ecstatic, rhythmic devotion of Qawwali. This expert juxtaposition creates performances that are both meditative and electrifying, offering a transcendent serenity found only in such profound command of form. Equally at home performing each tradition on its own or weaving them together in a single set, they are dynamic, genre-defying artists whose range continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Each performance is spontaneous, deeply felt, and entirely unique.

Chicha Libre, North America's psychedelic cumbia pioneers, are back on the road after a long hiatus.

Back in 2008, Chicha Libre launched the first psychedelic cumbia and chicha wave in North America with its debut album Sonido Amazonico (Barbès Records). The album was a tribute to 70’s Peruvian musicians from Lima and the Amazon and their eclectic mix of tropical rhythms and psychedelic sounds. The album followed the release of the compilation The Roots of Chicha (also on Barbès Records) which first documented Peruvian cumbia and chicha outside of Peru.

PLAN YOUR PICNIC

Bryant Park lends out hundreds of free blankets on a first come, first served basis, or bring your own cotton or fleece blanket. To protect the lawn, please do not sit on waterproof materials such as plastic tarps, yoga mats, or inflatable chairs.

Take a seat in one of the pre-set chairs on the lawn or grab a chair from the gravel. You can use a chair anywhere on the lawn except for the center lawn blanket zone.

Purchase food and drinks from tents on the east side of the lawn or bring your own picnic. Look for Stout NYC and Heaster Street Fair vendors, and be sure to visit the Bryant Park Shop, too!

Visit the Bryant Park Shop tent for exclusive Picnic Performances merchandise and more.

Find a parachute, hula hoops, and more fun on the east side of the lawn at select events.

Dogs are welcome on the gravel and bluestone, but not on the lawn.

Performances are cancelled when it is unsafe to be outdoors. In some cases, the lawn may be too wet to open but the performance may continue. Follow @bryantparknyc for day-of event updates. You can also check the lawn status on the bryantpark.org homepage.
