Mobile Unit: As You Like It

Free Shakespeare on the Fifth Avenue Terrace

In partnership with The Public Theater and The New York Public Library, Bryant Park hosts the Mobile Unit’s production of Shakespeare's As You Like It. On Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20, enjoy free Shakespeare on the Fifth Avenue Terrace in front of The New York Public Library.

When Duke Frederick exiles her father, Rosalind and her cousin Celia flee to the forest. Disguised as a young man, Rosalind encounters the heart-sick Orlando, who is desperately seeking none other than Rosalind. While the two young lovers role-play their way back into each other's arms, the forest of Arden is abuzz with lovelorn shepherds, pining jesters, and battling brothers. True lovers, strange capers, and fools in the forest go heart-in-heart in Shakespeare’s classic romantic comedy, directed by The Public's inaugural Directing Fellow Emma Rosa Went.

Performances run 90 minutes without an intermission. Each performance is open captioned in Spanish.

Admission

All performances take place outdoors. Chair seating is available, but seating is limited, and general admission is on a first-come, first-served basis, and is not guaranteed. There is no ticket distribution, and a reservation is not required.
