This summer, our free Tuesday morning yoga class is back on the Upper Terrace! Please register for each class and bring your own mat (the park does not provide yoga mats). We also recommend bringing water and a towel. Our yoga classes are appropriate for all levels of practice.
Mona is a co-owner and managing director of ISHTA Yoga and a Yogiraj or yoga master in the ISHTA lineage. She recently opened ISHTA’s new flagship studio in New York City where she teaches group classes. Mona leads ISHTA’s world renowned 200 hour and 300 hour international teacher trainings.
She is passionate about yoga nIdra, which she was first introduced to growing up Mumbai, India. Mona created a nine-step system of yoga nidra with ISHTA founder, Alan Finger called ‘Mona Anand’s ISHTA Yoga Nidra, “and has gone on to develop numerous yoga nidra trainings that she teaches around the globe. She has created yoga nidra recordings for a variety of purposes, some of which are available on iTunes, Yogobe, Insight Timer, Spotify and numerous online sites. She also has a monthly yoga nidra subscription, “Yoga Nidra with Mona Anand” on the Teachable App that can be accessed through the ISHTA website.
Mona is also passionate about restorative yoga and co-leads restorative trainings, known as, "Anand Menza Restorative.” Her love of both restorative yoga and yoga nidra led her to develop her signature Restorative/Yoga Nidra Workshops over fifteen years ago, a style being emulated by teachers around the globe.
Mona has a masters degree in international affairs from Columbia University and currently lives in New York City with her husband and two daughters.
