Christmas Bird Count at Bryant Park

Birders look for migratory birds in Bryant Park during a birding tour

On Sunday, December 17, join Bryant Park and NYC Audubon for the annual Christmas Bird Count! From 8am to 10am, participants will walk the park with our expert birding guide and keep a running count of every bird we see - and trust us, it's more than just pigeons!

For over 120 years, the Audubon Christmas Bird Count has served as an annual census of North American birds, providing critical conservation data on bird populations. The Count relies on tens of thousands of volunteer observers conducting thousands of counts across multiple countries - and this year, you could be one of them!

Since the data from this walk will be part of the official national count, registration is encouraged, but walk-ups are also very welcome! To register as a participant, visit the following link: nycaudubon.org/christmas-bird-count-2023

This walk will meet inside Bryant Park near the corner of 6th Avenue and 42nd Street. Look for all the people wearing binoculars!
