From 9:30am-11:20am, kids rule The Rink! Family-favorite music will be playing on the ice, and skate aids are free to use during this session (helmets are always free at The Rink). Reserve your skate time today! Please note: admission to the rink is free, and you can bring your own skates if you have them. There is a fee for skate rentals.

Beginner Skate Lesson

If your child dreams of gliding across the ice, this is their chance! During Kids Week, we are offering free 30-minute group skate lessons each morning. Instructors review the importance of proper safety measures, from learning how to adequately fall and stand, to safely marching across the ice. Participation is limited to children 12 and under. Due to limited capacity, we ask that families sign up for no more than one session for the week. Skate lessons will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

To participate in a skate lesson, book a skate time between 9:30am –9:50am. Once you arrive at the park, check in at the ticketholders podium, get your skates, and meet our coaches by the by Bag Check window. Our coaches will assign you to a lesson beginning at 9:40am or 10:20am.

*Please note that skate rental is not included. Participants are welcomed to bring their own skates or reserve skate rental online in advanced. All Group Skate Lesson participants must reserve a corresponding skate time.

Kids Week Schedule

On Itty Bitty City day, meet an expert from the New York Transit Museum and the furry companions of NYPD’s K9 unit. Then, put on your thinking cap to build a model skyscraper, trace a city skyline, and design a course fit for scooter boards.

Explore all things out of this world at Bryant Park! Meet astronomy educators as you peruse through a scale model of the solar system and hop inside a planetarium dome, design and test your own balloon rockets, and craft a galaxy with cray-pas too.

Go undercover and uncover secrets and mysteries at Bryant Park. Warm up and hone your spy senses with a fitness course by Zing!, try on a new disguise, craft your own spy badge, then embark on Operation Lost and Found – a parkwide scavenger hunt.

Use your imagination to transport yourself to Summer! Join a beach-themed yoga class with Yogi Beans, have a field day with parachutes and hula hoops on the blue deck, sculpt your own bug friends, or join the team from the Museum of the Dog to celebrate the “dog-days” of summer.
