Le Patin Libre carves a new kind of contemporary ice-skating. For the past decade, the Montreal-based company tours the world with their disruptive fusion of athleticism, virtuosity and total creative freedom. No sparkles.
The piece Threshold uses the astonishing time-bending effect of glide to explore the liminal moments when things change, when accidents happen and when new emotions emerge. In February 2024, Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park will offer a special al-fresco version of this internationally celebrated piece. The performances can be viewed for free by standing spectators.
Special on-ice seats will be reserved for Le Patin Libre supporters. Learn more at their website.

Threshold by Le Patin Libre
Le Patin Libre is a Montreal-based contemporary skating company. It combines the athletic virtuosity of skating with the creativity of contemporary dance and the energy of urban dances.
The company had its New York premiere in 2021, when it performed for the Brooklyn Academy of Music. This series in Bryant Park will be its Manhattan premiere.
After the performance, the artists will welcome spectators on the ice for an ice-dancing party. Reserve any skate time after 9pm. Beginners and experts alike can take advantage of playful choreographic workshops that will turn the rink into an immense and joyful dance floor.
A select number of on-ice VIP seats with an exclusive frontal view of the performace are availible. Tickets include a meet-and-greet with the artists and choreographers, priority access to the ice-dancing party, and free skate rental.
