This summer, our free Tuesday morning yoga class is back on the Upper Terrace! Please register for each class and bring your own mat (the park does not provide yoga mats). We also recommend bringing water and a towel. Our yoga classes are appropriate for all levels of practice.
Ruah Bhay is a sought-after yoga, meditation, and breathwork teacher at Equinox and Prema Yoga Brooklyn, where she also serves on the faculty of the Prema Yoga Teacher Training Program. With over 20 years of experience, Ruah leads classes, private sessions, and transformational international retreats rooted in self-discovery, resilience, and balance.
Ruah grew up in Greenwich Village in a family where yoga, transcendental meditation, and spiritual healing were woven into everyday life. This foundation deeply informs her teaching and fuels her lifelong passion for movement, mindfulness, and personal growth.
Her classes blend dynamic movement, yoga philosophy, and mindfulness, drawing on foundational principles like Abhyasa (steady practice) and Vairagya (letting go). Known for her compassionate and empowering teaching style, Ruah helps students build strength, clarity, and inner peace—both on and off the mat.
Ruah’s approach is rooted in extensive training with respected teachers from YogaWorks, Swami Vivekananda University Yoga Therapy (Bengaluru), Khalsa Way Prenatal, and Dharma Mittra. She also trains in mixed martial arts and has earned gold and silver medals in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions. Ruah also teaches strength and conditioning classes that focus on developing power, mobility, and stability through core integration and functional movement.
She continues to teach across NYC and lead retreats in Portugal, Croatia, Senegal, and France, offering immersive experiences in yoga, meditation, cultural and personal exploration. Whether in a packed class, a quiet coastal village, or a one-on-one session, her mission remains the same: to guide students in reconnecting with themselves and their purpose through movement, breath, and reflection.
A mother of two, Ruah believes in the power of presence, practice, and community to create meaningful change in ourselves and the world.
